      Our cracking Lobsters are back…

      This July and August, you can enjoy whole lobster (at its prime), caught off the coast of Brixham and Colchester every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Perfectly paired with our Grand Mayne from Southern France, fruity and refreshing, very gluggable on its own but also tip-top with the sweet, rich flesh of Cornish lobster.

      Lobster Thermidor, Grilled Lobster & Garlic Butter or Dressed Native Crab, served with Skinny Fries – British really is best. And if you don’t believe me, book a table and come give them a try. Be quick, once they’re gone, they’re gone.

After your parties’ 1.5 hour limit is over if you would like to stay and continue to enjoy yourselves, we ask that you please move to the bar and continue to drink responsibly.

            Out of Africa

            Our friends at Nicholsons have been working behind the scenes with Lippa and Tarquin Wood on a game-changing project – “Trees in the Wild” – which will run alongside our Herds for Growth programme in the Mara. “Trees in the Wild” will see 500,000 trees planted in the Mara and is being generously supported by Nicholsons who specialise in forestry and arboriculture.  It will be launched this year and is endorsed by the International Tree Fund (ITF). We would love it if you could join us for its launch and a Herds for Growth update in the tipi at The Fishes. 6:30pm start, drinks and bitings included, talks to start at 7:30pm.

            Tarquin and Lippa Wood created the Enonkishu Conservancy, the House in the Wild, the Mara Training Camp and the Naretoi development.  They will give a short talk on their lives in the Mara and why they believe the Mara can be saved.

            This event will be a great opportunity to understand the current issues in African rangeland and wildlife and tourism and in particular the Mara in Kenya, the home of the last great land migration.

            It will be great to see you there, tickets £10pp, available here.

              Cocktail Club

              Join us in the snug from 7pm, for our exclusive Cocktail Club. King of the Cocktails, Matt Simmonds will be showcasing his mixology skills and creating delicious cocktails just for you. Don’t worry, there’ll be deli boards to soak it all up!

                  For those of you that have been to our Posh Pub Quiz before, you’ll know that we do things a little differently, with us  putting your food, wine and local Thame knowledge to the test. There’s lunch or dinner on us for the winning team!

                        Christmas Eve Eve Party

                        Kick off the Christmas break as you mean to go on at our Christmas Party. Starting at 9pm, doors close at midnight so make sure you’re in before then! Strictly adults only.

                        Great music and drink to last you through until the wee hours – even a bacon sarnie at midnight! Don’t make plans for the next day.

                          Christmas Day

                          We’re closed for the day to stuff ourselves with turkey and then gently nod off in front of the fire. We look forward to seeing you on Boxing Day. Merry Christmas.

                            Boxing Day

                            Join us between 12pm – 7pm for our Boxing Day Best menu. We’ll get the bloody marys or prosecco at the ready to keep on with the festivities.

                              New Year’s Eve
