Foodie’s destination of choice

We’re glad that Oxfordshire Limited Edition’s Richard O Smith thought that Thame was becoming the foodie’s destination of choice when he visited recently.

He popped in for a spot of lunch and a chat with Ev and was quite taken with the place, noting that the pub was ‘humming with busyness yet a reassuring calmness prevailed.’

Richard tucked into a starter of scallops which were described as ‘delectable’ while his companion enjoyed the free-range smoked duck, almond, watercress with quackling saying it was ‘scrumptious’. A main of cod with clams, saffron and haricot fricassee was ‘wonderfully heartening on many levels’. Everyone felt the presentation was immaculate throughout all the courses.
