Staff Update

Hello everyone
Sorry its been so long since my last blog - cant believe where the last month has gone. What with midwives appointments and staffing changes its been a hectic start to the year.
The last month has seen us say a sad farewell to Jak as head chef/mentor in the kitchen and Natalie as manager/mentor in the front. It definitely felt like the end of an era which was emotional - but we wish them all the best for the future and huge thanks for being there to share the start of this big adventure with us!
We welcome Christian Cilia as our new head chef/mentor and wish him all the best for the coming months. His first task on landing at the Thatch was to compose a new Spring Menu which he has done with gusto and I have to say, it looks amazing! This week is changeover week so come in and let us know what you think and sample the new dishes. The new menu will appear on the website shortly - watch this space!
We also welcome Alan as new Assistant Manager and my (little) sister Lizzie as a new waitress; great to have you both on board. I'd like to say a massive thank you to Simon for all of his hard work and determination over the last few months. Congratualtions on your promotion to Deputy and keep up the good work - I don't know how we'd cope without you!
I'd also like to say thank you to Ben from The Fishes in North Hinksey for taking us under your wing until we get our new General Manager on board mid-March.
Please bear with us until things settle down a bit in this funny period. I am now on maternity leave with only 1 week to go til Baby Hooper arrives - so sadly i cant be in the buildiing on a daily basis. I assure you, I am there in spirit though! Jeremy is also off for a couple of weeks for paternity leave. Watch this space for baby's arrival!!
Well, Spring is definitely in the air and as we move in to another phase of the restaurants year its all still very exciting. Please do come and try us out if you havent already, and if you've been before or are one of our regulars, I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
